What is a producer (and what can they do)?

A producer can help run a session without appearing in it. They share the host's controls in the room, but are never recorded.

Producers can be heard on the live call when unmuted, but they have no camera, so nobody ever sees them. The one exception is screen sharing: if a producer shares their screen, that screen is recorded and arrives as its own file.

What a producer can do

A producer has most of the host's controls: they can admit and remove guests, adjust guest and host microphone, camera or speaker settings, mute and unmute people, monitor participant statuses and audio levels, lock the session, share and record their own screen, write notes and markers, and start or stop a recording (a host must be in the room to start one).

If the host leaves mid-session

If the host drops off, the recording keeps going for as long as the producer stays. The host can rejoin and pick back up, or leave the producer to stop it.

A session can have one producer at a time. Available on paid plans.
